Architect Search Inc. was founded in 1998 by Darrell Day, the company’s current President/CEO. The vision for Architect Search struck while Mr. Day was Editor of “Columns” magazine for the AIA-Dallas. While writing a cover story for Columns, he interviewed principals of architectural firms who all lamented that their biggest problem was finding good people. Architect Search was born.
The firm placed its first Architect on September 1, 1998, and the company’s name was changed to Architect Search in 1999. We now represent more than 250 architecture firms nationwide.

Darrell Day, Founder of Architect Search
Former Arlington City Councilman Darrell Day is the CEO and founder of Architect Search Inc. The firm began in 1998 when - as editor of AIA-Dallas' Columns magazine - Darrell discovered the need. Researching a Columns cover story, he interviewed 20 principals of Dallas architecture firms about their biggest challenge. Expecting different answers, he was surprised that all 20 principals said finding great talent was their top challenge. "Where do I find good people?" was the common refrain. Knowing thousands of Architects and interns, Darrell began helping architecture firms find the talent they needed.
Besides helping more than 1,000 Architects and interns find better positions, Darrell has addressed architecture career development to audiences that include AIA-Dallas, AIA-Las Vegas, AIA-Fort Worth, AIA-Houston, Texas Tech, University of Illinois and University of Texas-Arlington Las Vegas.
Duncan Boyle
Duncan Boyle joined Architect search as the Marketing Director in January of 2021. He received his bachelor’s degree from Hardin Simmons University after spending his formative years in Tanzania, Africa where he worked closely with his parents on the mission field. It was there that Duncan’s passion to serve others was cultivated. That passion drove his success as a leader and entrepreneur in the retail industry, insurance industry, as well as his many start-up endeavors.
Duncan is responsible for the continued growth of Architect Search while also developing and cultivating new firm relationships.
His wife Cristi and their four kids Masyn, Anna, Maddie, and Rhodes live in Richardson. When not at work or playing sand volleyball, Duncan spends his time as one of the Team Boyle personal chauffeurs. Luckily the Boyle fleet continues to grow but so does the insurance.
Tawn
Tawn joined Architect Search in 2013 and is now the Director of Recruiting. She enjoys working with our many candidates and finding them the job of their dreams! Tawn started her career in the legal field where she worked for twelve years as a Paralegal at Andrews & Kurth. She grew up in Houston and graduated with a BBA in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas. Tawn is married and has two daughters and two rescue dogs. When not recruiting, Tawn can always be found in her garden!
Christian Peacock
A successful talent acquisitionist focused on building relationships with the best architects and designers in the industry today. He specializes in closing the gap between the most exceptional professionals in architecture and the best architectural firms that will ultimately help facilitate their growth within the industry.
In his experience recruiting architects, he has learned one glaring truth about the industry: passion is everything. Without it, you can only hope to accomplish the bare minimum. With it, obstacles will have no option but to scatter when they see you coming. Understanding what makes an architect passionate about their work is the best tool in finding the perfect firm for them.
When he’s not at work, you can find Christian whipping up delicious recipes at home for his friends, whittling away at his newest wood-working project, shredding away on his guitars, or spending a few moments of peace with his canine companion, Leo. He loves to laugh, treat people with respect, and most important, find architects their dream job!
